"Twirl me all around the floor, that's what they intended dancing for"

Got the quarter round stained and polyed (I don't think that's a word lol) and installed on Saturday.  Thankfully I have great parents and family who will do that while I was out at a birthday party.  It's not that I didn't want to help, I just had prior obligations and that was the only day they could help.  Still have a TON of odds and ends left to finish up before the party, but it's getting there.  I am getting really excited. :)

Saturday I celebrated my FAVORITE 5 year old's birthday and my favoritest 1 year old.  My BFF went with a Frozen theme and did them together this year.  I went over early to help decorate and do party favors.  So much work! But it looked beautiful! I've decided, after watching my friends host kids' birthday parties at their house, I'm not sure I want to ever do that.  LOL  I think my kids will have parties outside the home.  When I saw Alicia Saturday she ran up and gave me a huge hug and sweetly whispered, "Erinnnn I've missed you SO much!"  Insert melted heart here. <3 After the party Micah and I went out dancing. I love that I have friends who are getting into dancing and will actually dance.  2 stepping is the way to my heart. Twirl me all around that dance floor and I'm yours. ;)

I've been trying to do the 21 Day Fix from Beachbody.  I was doing really good, then last night I just felt like pizza so I ate some.  Oops.  Lunch and dinner today were already planned so I'm good to go and can jump back on the wagon, but I'm frantically planning for the rest of the week today so I can try and not slip up again. OH and a couple weeks ago I bought the Garmin VivoFit.  So far I really like it. :) I enjoy the challenge of trying to beat my goal every day!

Happy Monday and National Coffee Day!

Autumn!

Stealing from Allie today and talking about my love for Autumn! I really love all seasons and couldn't imagine living somewhere where I didn't get to experience all of them.  But right now Autumn has a special spot in my heart.  I am loving the crisp air and all the fall-ness!

1. The crisp air!  I love the chilly air and needing to wear a sweater! It's just so cozy!

2. Warming up with a hot mug of coffee or hot cocoa! I'm really loving mugs lately!

3. Jeans and boots! I love feeling "dressy" and casual all at the same time.  :)

4. Snuggles on the couch! (Who am I kidding, every season is snuggles on the couch season! haha!)
Why yes that IS Lucy laying on TOP of Molly so she can lay closest to momma. <3

5. Drives that look like this:

To-Do lists seem never ending!

I am in full on “finish the house asap” mode.  Both house warming dates have been set and invites have been sent.  (One is family, the other is friends – not so kid friendly haha)  I am SO excited! But there’s still lots I want to do before then and not much time left.  Eek!

I crossed one thing off my “To-Do” list this weekend … I finally made my faux scrabble tiles for the dining room! I love the way it turned out! I think I will add one more tile to each name though, with a picture of whoever it is on it. J

Close up - LOVE it!!

New Theater Restaurant

Last night was girl's night! I love girl's nights!! It's so nice to catch up and spend time together. :) The girls I usually have girl's nights with I have been friends with since high school. :)  Last night we got tickets to check out the New Theater Restaurant.  It was a cool experience and a fun/different night! They do a buffet style dinner with a TON of choices! (You can also get alcoholic drinks and dessert for extra.) We were quite possible the youngest people in the crowd, but I could care less, lol.  It was fun and I would go again. :) Last night's show was Murder Among Friends.  "When the chic, wealthy, conniving wife of a "fading" star decides to do away with him she finds out that murder is far more challenging than marriage.  A comedy thriller involving deceit, robbery, murder and lots of laughs." It was definitely full of twists and laughs.  I really enjoyed it!!  It stars Morgan Fairchild (who is fabulous!) and the entire night I just kept calling her Nora Bing in my head. ;) Haha!!  She will always be the smutty novel writer, mom of Chandler Bing, to me!! If you have the chance to go (and especially if you can see this show) - DO IT! :)

Hello!

1st post on a brand new blog! It's like entering a freshly painted room. ;) Which I happen to know ALL about.  I just recently bought my FIRST HOUSE! I've spent the last month redoing the entire house.  SO. MUCH. WORK. But soooooo worth it! My parents have been amazing help! It's been really cool to see the house transform and build these memories with my family. :)

I feel silly introducing myself, but I'm going to (sorta) anyway. Haha!

I have two dogs - Molly and Lucy; as well as three kittens - Tenley, Gracie, and Jasper.  They'll frequent the blog quite often. :) They are my world! Yes, I AM that crazy lady. :) (I also have a rabbit, CoCo, but she lives at my parents' house.) I'm 29, not married, and I don't have kids (human kids that is lol).  My world revolves around my pets, family, and friends. :)

I am an elementary school counselor.  I just started my 3rd year counseling, but I will be in a new district and have two offices/schools to serve this year.  I'm excited and also very nervous! We started school already, which has helped calm some of my nerves, but there's so much to do.  Scheduling may be the death of me. ;) But it's okay.  I really love what I do!

My blog title is a perfect representation of me - I love camo and my boots.  Give me a truck and some mud and I'm a happy girl! BUT I can also be very girly and like my diamonds and pearls!! :) I like to think I'm a good balance between the two worlds. :)

Sunflowers!

Mid-week last week I got hit with the flu. :( I haven't had the flu in FOURTEEN YEARS! I had a nice streak going and then it came to a crashing halt. :( Ugh I was miserable! Luckily it didn't last too long.  I'm feeling better - but still not 100%.  I'll take this over how I was feeling and throwing up any day though!! My mom brought over some 7UP, chicken noodle soup, and jello.  I didn't really feel like eating, so I gave Jasper some of my noodles and he happily ate them. :-p

This weekend since I was feeling a little better I wanted to venture out and enjoy the GORGEOUS fall weather we're having!  There is this field where the owners have grown rows and rows and rows and rows of sunflowers.  It is sooooo pretty!!!  My parents and I got some sandwiches together and I took them out there to see it.  We walked a little ways out and took some pics and enjoyed the weather. :)

Sunflower sporting it's Jayhawk pride ;) Rock Chalk baby!

weekend recap

This was one of the best weekends I've had in a long time and it was so needed and overdue!

Friday night my parents came over and we had pizza and card night.  It was awesome having them over and NOT having to paint or sand or drill anything or move anything or do anything! :)

Saturday during the day my parents came over and we started painting the LAST ROOM UPSTAIRS! WOO HOO!!
haha smooth Molly!
I knew it was only a matter of time before someone got into the paint lol

Then, Saturday night I went out for a few drinks with my BFF. And forgot to take pics. :( But it's okay, a night out with her was exactly what I needed.  We don't get to hang out much anymore it seems so it was nice to have some "just us" time. <3

Sunday my parents came back and we finished the painting and hung up the kitchen cabinets!!  Now it actually looks like a kitchen! haha The house is almost done y'all!!!

I decided Monday was going to be a rest day and I'd do nothing except watch TV and clean a little.
My boy snuggling on the couch <3

I even ignored phone calls.  Until M and C just showed up at my house. LOL Guess if you don't answer their calls they just come on over!  But it worked out great, they picked me up and we went on a bike ride out to the lake in my new town and then up to get some ice cream.  Then M and I went to visit my parents.  I'm glad they just showed up.  It was nice to go out riding and spend time together. :)

And a few random pics ...
Seriously I'M IN LOVE! This is Jezebel :)

Quote I sent to my BFF.  Be unstoppable!
